The Mumbai Indians (MI) vs Delhi Capitals (DC) IPL 2025 match on Wednesday, May 21, is expected to be spoiled by rain. The city of Mumbai has a massive rain threat, especially in the evening.
MI is above DC on the points table, and a win for MI will see them through to the IPL 2025 playoffs. A win for DC keeps them alive in the tournament. As per reports, there is a yellow alert in Mumbai on Wednesday due to unfavorable weather conditions.
Meanwhile, DC owner Parth Jindal wants the match to be shifted outside of Mumbai city. He wants the match to be played in Lucknow, as the "virtual quarterfinal is also expected to be washed out." Jindal's request comes on the back of the RCB vs SRH game on May 23, which is relocated to Lucknow due to unfavorable weather conditions.

Rain Threat Looms Large Over MI vs DC Contest
As per AccuWeather, there is a prediction of rain throughout the day in Mumbai city. There is a 60 percent chance of rain in the evening, as per AccuWeather. In the evening, there is a consistent rain threat as well, close to 30 percent.
Parth Jindal said that with the RCB vs SRH match all set to be shifted to Lucknow, moving out the MI vs DC match to Lucknow is only consistent.
"The forecast in Mumbai is for heavy rains and there is a strong likelihood that the game will be washed out," he wrote. "Just as the game between RCB vs SRH has been moved out of Bengaluru in the quest for consistency and in the interest of the league it is my request that tomorrow's game also be moved to a different location as we have known for the better part of 6 days that the forecast for 21st in Mumbai is for heavy showers" Jindal said.

KKR CEO Expresses Displeasure Over BCCI's Rule Change
KKR CEO Venky Mysore also expressed his displeasure at the sudden rule change by the BCCI. As per the new rules, there are an extra two hours added to the start of an inning if the match is interrupted by rain when the match starts at 7:30 PM. KKR's rained-out game against RCB eliminated them from the tournament.
