Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) finally gave its billion fans to celebrate and rejoice after they ended an 18-year-old wait to lift their maiden trophy by beating Punjab Kings (PBKS) by six runs on June 03 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Inserted to bat first, RCB posted a challenging score of 190 runs. Later on, their bowlers, led by Josh Hazlewood, restricted PBKS to just 183 runs as RCB finally had their moment under the sun. However, one man's luck and karmic connection with winning finals also played a huge role in RCB managing to end the trophy drought.

Hazlewood, who came into the RCB team as the side's most expensive mega auction buy, had an exceptional season throughout for the side, as he ended up taking 22 wickets and thus was third in the IPL Purple Cape Holder's list for most wickets for the season. The Aussie was meticulous with his line and length and was RCB's go-to-bowler in crises. However, more than that, his record in the finals for Australia and other franchise T20 leagues is spotless in the final.

Josh Hazlewood's final record continues as he adds another T20 Trophy

Since 2012, Josh Hazlewood has featured in six finals for Australia as well as for different T20 leagues. The Aussie first won the trophy for Sydney Sixers in CLT20 in 2012. Later, the veteran pacer won the ODI World Cup 2015 for Australia under Michael Clarke's leadership. After that, the fast bowler won the 2020 edition of BBL with the Sixers.

In 2021, Hazlewood won the T20 World Cup with Australia and later won the trophy playing for CSK. The 35-year-old year in 2023 helped Australia win their sixth World Cup, and in 2025, Hazlewood added another trophy to his cabinet - his second IPL title with the RCB. In each of the finals, the Aussie has played a starring role and helped his team win crunch moments. He has played seven finals and has won it all in the white-ball formats.
