Air India flight carrying 242 passengers from Ahmedabad immediately crashed after take-off, putting 242 lives in danger. Indian Captain Rohit Sharma shared his grief on Instagram.

The Boeing 787 aircraft operated by Air India, which took off from Ahmedabad with 242 passengers, crashed near Meghaninagar, close to Ahmedabad airport in Gujarat on Thursday afternoon. The flight, which was going from Ahmedabad to London, had 169 Indian passengers, 43 British citizens, seven Portuguese, and one Canadian citizen. Current reports indicate some passengers have died and many others were injured.

PM Modi, Amit Shah Coordinate Relief After Plane Crash

Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke to the Gujarat Chief Minister and Home Minister regarding the crash and has assured central government assistance. Currently, flight operations from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport are temporarily suspended.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also spoke with Home Minister Amit Shah and Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu regarding the crash and asked all officials in Gujarat to assist and help those affected by the air mishap.
